Getting Started at 320 Dental Studio

What to Expect

At 320 Dental Studio, Dr. Haack sees children, adults, and families, with care adjusted to each patient’s individual needs. He is happy to see young children as early as age one. If you are a new patient, our team will send you some forms via email before your visit so they can be completed ahead of time.

The first appointment focuses on understanding the current state of oral health and identifying any areas that may need attention. Initial appointments are typically scheduled for about one hour and twenty minutes. This allows time for a full evaluation, imaging, and discussion.

Navigating the First Visit

A Thorough Look at Your Oral Health

Your first visit includes a comprehensive evaluation. Digital X-rays are taken to provide a clear view of your teeth and supporting structures. Digital X-rays use lower radiation and provide clear images without long waiting times for results. These images are available immediately and help Dr. Haack assess your current oral health. In many cases, a full-mouth series of X-rays with bitewings is completed to establish a baseline for future comparison. Cone beam imaging may be used when additional detail is needed.

Gum Health and Periodontal Evaluation

Periodontal readings are taken to assess the health of your gums. This involves measuring the spaces around each tooth to identify signs of gum disease or areas that require closer attention. These findings are recorded and used to guide treatment and monitor changes over time.

Professional Dental Cleaning

A professional dental cleaning may be completed during your first visit, depending on your oral health. If periodontal issues are found and scaling or root planing is needed, your cleaning will be scheduled for a separate, later appointment. For patients who have not had a dental visit in several years, the first appointment is usually focused on a full evaluation. If time allows, a cleaning may also be done.

Understanding Your Results

After your dental evaluation, Dr. Haack will run through the results with you. He will also ask you about any concerns or goals you have for your smile at this stage. You will be shown what is happening, any areas of concern, and what may need to be addressed. Questions can be asked (and are encouraged) before moving forward with any further treatment.

Planning Your Treatment

Treatment recommendations are based on your current condition and what is needed to maintain or restore your oral health. Some patients are fine to continue with routine checkups and preventive care appointments. Others may need more extensive treatment planned over time. Whatever the case may be, Dr. Haack will give you a clear outline so you know what to expect.

Financial Information

Reviewing Costs and Options

A financial consultation is provided as part of your visit, where you will be given a breakdown of any recommended treatment costs. Our team can also talk to you about payment options and, of course, will be available to answer any questions you may have.
